Four Gigabit Ethernet uplink ports and two SFP slots provide high-speed backbone connectivity to a core switch. Web smart management enables VLAN, QoS, and IGMP snooping without full CLI complexity. Backed by a 12-month Reboot IT warranty.

Key Benefits

PoE on all 24 data ports: 802.3af PoE (up to 15.4W per port) powers IP cameras, VoIP phones, and wireless access points without separate power injectors.

4× Gigabit uplink ports: Dedicated Gigabit Ethernet uplinks avoid Fast Ethernet bottlenecks on the backbone connection to a core or aggregation switch.

2× SFP slots: Fibre connectivity option for longer backbone runs or isolated network segments requiring fibre uplinks.

Web smart management: 802.1Q VLAN, 802.1p QoS, IGMP snooping, and spanning tree configurable via web GUI — no CLI experience required.

Cost-effective PoE coverage: Provides PoE to 24 devices at lower cost than a Gigabit PoE equivalent — practical for IP camera systems where 100Mbps per camera is sufficient.

1U rackmount: 19-inch rack mounting for structured comms room deployments alongside patch panels and other rack equipment.

Performance in Use

The DES-1228P is a practical choice for IP camera and VoIP phone installations where 100Mbps per device is more than adequate. Standard HD IP cameras (1–4MP) require only 2–8 Mbps of bandwidth each — well within 100Mbps capacity — meaning 24 camera connections via this switch comfortably feed a Gigabit uplink to an NVR or core switch without bottlenecks.

VLAN support allows separation of camera traffic from office data, and IGMP snooping prevents multicast video streams from flooding non-camera ports.
